Warren High School - California Gold Ribbon School
Warren High School was named a California Gold Ribbon School by the state superintendent.
The award comes on the heels of Warren High School receiving a six-year clear term of accreditation by the WASC Commission, the highest accreditation term given to schools.
The Gold Ribbon Award was created to honor schools in place of the California Distinguished Schools program, which is on hiatus while the state creates new assessment and accountability systems and revises how it calculates its Academic Performance Index, a key factor in the former award system.
The new awards go to secondary campuses that successfully implement the state’s more rigorous academic content and performance standards in English language arts and mathematics.

The California Department of Education has implemented a new state academic testing program which will begin in the spring of this year. This test is called the California Assessment of Student Performance and Progress, or CAASPP. Starting shortly, students will take part in the first statewide administration of the CAASPP. Following the spring 2015 testing, student score reports will be sent home to you in August and will include an overall score and a description of the student’s achievement level for English Language Arts (ELA) and mathematics. This year’s test results will establish a baseline for the progress we expect students to make over time. California’s new assessment system also represents the next step in our comprehensive plan to improve student outcomes. Please visit www.dusd.net to read a message from Superintendent Dr. John Garcia for more information about the upcoming CAASPP testing. Please download the letters here:
