Biography

Cindy was born January 26, 1979, the 2nd daughter and 4th child of Jorge and Juanita Vega. Cindy lived in Downey and attended Maude Price Elementary School where she became a Brownie and then Girl Scout. It was also during elementary school that she began dancing at Belinda’s Dance Studio. Cindy went on to attend Griffiths Middle School where she was active in the student government, ran track and was a cheerleader in her eighth grade year. Once at Warren High School, Cindy began to show her skills as a natural leader holding positions on the ASB and in her senior year being the Senior Class President and being the Pep Squad Captain. Cindy was an outstanding student and a great friend to many.
After high school, Cindy went to Cypress College and then on to San Diego State University where she was a full time student and paid her way through college. During that time, Cindy became a Christian and began living her life as an example of her faith. After earning her Bachelors degree in Public Administration, Cindy returned home to the Los Angeles area and began working as a math teacher at Warren High School in 2003. She took over the roll of cheer advisor at Warren and then became the Activities Director.
Cindy was able to buy herself a condo in La Mirada, and enjoyed traveling around the world with friends and family. About two years ago, Cindy met her boyfriend, Andy, and she hoped to get married and start a family by next year. She lived her life to the fullest each day and was never short on smiles or kind words. In addition to being a fabulous teacher, Cindy was an extraordinary daughter, sister, auntie and friend. Cindy passed away on June 29, 2008 at her home in La Mirada.
