Sophomore ASB- Attention sophomore ASB members! There is a meeting today at snack. Be there sharp!
Winter Formal- Hey Bears! Winter formal is less than a month away and tickets are now on sale! Tickets are currently $50 with an ASB card and $55 without. Ticket prices go up every week so get your tickets today! Winter formal will be held on February 2nd at Fort Erhart from 7:00- midnight. Don’t miss out!
Swim Tryouts- Think you can swim? The boys and girls swim team tryouts will be held on Friday January 25th at 3:00pm. Please bring appropriate swim attire and a completed grade check. See you at the pool!
Varsity Soccer- Please excuse our boys soccer players today at 1:15 and come watch them play today against Lynwood at 3:00 here at Warren.
Bear Community Members- We will have our weekly meeting tomorrow during both lunches. First lunch meet in A202 and second lunch meet in X33. See you there!!
Scholarship applications- Attention all seniors! Don’t forget to turn in your Local Scholarship Application to Mrs. Lostetter’s office by next Monday, January 14th.

Holiday Grams- Attention all students! There are still unclaimed holiday grams. If you think your grams have not been sent, please come by S1 and pick them up during both lunches.
Downey Federal Credit Union- Open a checking account with a debit card at the student credit union in K3 by March 31st to be in a drawing for Guitar Hero 3!
Scholarship applications- Attention all seniors! Don’t forget to turn in your Local Scholarship Application to Mrs. Lostetter’s office by next Monday, January 14th.
Boys Basketball- The Boys Basketball Program begins San Gabriel League Play today. The Freshmen team plays at Lynwood at 4:30pm. The Junior Varsity team, coming off of a solid win against Fountain Valley, enters their game against the Knights with a 10-6 record. The J.V. team plays today at Lynwood and 3:00pm. The Boys Varsity Basketball team opens league play at home tonight with a big game against a very talented Lynwood team. The Bears, coming off a 4th place finish in the Cantwell Tournament over break, enter the game with a 10-7 record and will be looking for big performances from every player in this statement game at home. Come out tonight at 7:00pm to the gym to help kick off an exciting basketball League season. LET'S GO BEARS!

Boys And Girls Swim- Think you can swim? The boys and girls swim team will be having tryouts on Friday, January 25th @3pm. Please bring appropriate swim attire, a towel, and a completed grade check. For questions, see Coach O’Dowd in S206 for boys and Coach Cordero in S209 for girls. See you at the pool!
Food Drive- The food drive is starting on Monday Jan. 14th until Friday Jan. 25th. Your 2nd period classes will be competing for a chance to win a donut party on Monday Jan. 28th! Bring canned foods for the needy and the food will be picked up on Fridays during 4th period.
Drama- See The Bad Seed at the Downey Theater Jan 16-17th at 7pm. Tickets on sale in the quad Both Lunches.

Scholarship Applications- Seniors. Don’t forget to turn in your local scholarship application to Mrs. Lostetter’s office by next Monday, January 14, 2008, on the second floor of he administration building. Also, don’t forget to make 4 copies of the front cover of the application, your resume and the essay. Staple each set of 3 papers together and then paper clip the 4 copies plus the original together. Then bring all copies to Mrs. Lostetter’s office, 2nd floor of the administration building in the guidance office

Girls Waterpolo- Congrats to the Varsity Girls Waterpolo Team for defeating Cal High in a triple overtime sudden death match. Their record is now 9-4. Good luck on Tuesday against Schurr High.

Girls Water Polo- Congrats to both the JV and Varsity water polo squads for defeating Schurr High School yesterday afternoon. The JV score was 9-4 and the Varsity score was 10-3. Good luck on Thursday as you play St. Joe’s. Let’s go bears!
Gay Straight Alliance- Attention all students. Gay Straight Alliance is back and with new exciting activities to help support the causes of diversity every Tuesday in Mr. Weeks room X14 after school.
Spirit Week- Today is Traffic Light Day! Hopefully you dressed up. Tomorrow is Downey Dork Day so show your school spirit!
ACS Bears of Hope- Attention all Bears of Hope: We will be a having our first meeting of the year today at lunch in G1. Hope to see you there.
ELD Program- Churros Churros Cha Cha Cha!! Hot Churros will be sold today and every day this week in the quad during snack and both lunches.
Oceanography Club- We will be having a meeting in S213 today after school to plan Saturdays Beach Clean up and Tide Pool visit.
Independent Film Club- IFC meeting today after school in room K2. We are bringing it back. Be there.
