            Hey Bears, guess what?! Tommy’s Burger is going to be on our campus after school TODAY! Be sure to stop by and grab a bite to eat.  There will be chili burgers, chili fries, and drinks.  Don’t forget to bring your appetite and get Tommy’s TODAY!

            Can you believe that it’s already time for the first dance of the year?!  That’s right Bears this Friday is the Back to School Dance. Tickets are on sale now:  $5 with an ASB card, $8 with out an ASB card, and $10 at the door.  The theme of the dance is “Denim in Diamonds” so be sure to wear your hottest denim and your sparkling diamonds.  The dance will begin right after the home football game from 9-11 pm.  See you there!

Academic Decathlon- Are you looking for a way to get involved in school?  Check out
the Academic Decathlon Team.  Come to an information meeting on Monday September 10 after school in Room X7.

Oceanography- There will be an oceanography club meeting today after school in room
 213 to discuss next Saturday’s beach clean up.

Football- The JV football team defeated Santa Fe on Thursday 17-0.  They are now 2-0
after defeating Bellflower last week 35-21.  The Bears will take on Santa Fe tonight at Justice Stadium.  Come out at 7:00pm to support your football team!

Soccer Try-outs- Boys soccer sign ups will be on Monday in the quad at both lunches.

X- Country-  Boys cross country open their season by competing at the Palm Springs
Cross- Country Challenge.  The bears came away with first place team finish and senior Pedro Saucedo finished 1st overall.  The first 4 to cross the finish line were all Warren bears.  Ricky Carlos was 2nd and Mario Castillo was 3rd.

In the Junior Varsity; the bears demolished their competition by sweeping the first six places away from the other schools.  Jose Roque led the bears to a first place team and individual finish, while sophomore Franky Lopez and Eric Quintero were 2nd and 3rd.

Congratulations Bears for a great season opener.  The team will compete this weekend at the prestigious Woodbridge HS Invitational against a field of 75 schools.  Good Luck!!! Bring home a strong finish!!!

Mock Trial-  Mock Trial meeting today after school in room X36.  If you were thinking
of a club to join, Mock Trial is a great choice.  Today after school in room X36,

FBLA-  Attention all FBLA Board Members! Meet in S212 immediately after school!

Academic Decathlon-  Are you looking for a way to get involved in school?  Check out
            the Academic Decathlon Team.  Come to an information meeting TODAY after
school in room X7.

Football-  The varsity football team defeated Santa Fe on Friday 31-7.  The Bears were
led defensively by Carlos Salas, Nate Colbert, and Anthony Lopez.  Alfonso Gonzalez Threw 3 TD passes to Bailey Cowins, Nate Colbert, and Armando Gomez.  Giovanni Mayoral kicked one field goal and did a great job kicking for the Bears.  The Bears are now 2-0 on the season.

Spirit Day-  Spirit Day is this Friday.  Wear your class T-shirts and receive a free snow
come.  That’s right, wear your class T-shirt and receive a free snow cone during lunch.

X-Country-  On Saturday our boys Cross Country Team competed at the Woodbridge HS
Invitational with 90 other schools.  Our bears came home with plenty of medals and a superb showing, the best in over 30 years.

Beginning with the Juniors race.  Ricky Carlos placed 3rd over all with a time of 15:39.  NO Junior in 30 years has ran faster.  Alex Marquez came in 36th with a time of 16:21.

In the freshmen race our own Christopher Enriquez ran the course in time of 15:47.  WOW!! Christopher set a new frosh-soph school record in just the second week of the season.  Great Job!! He also earned the 6th fastest  time ever at the prestigious invitational for any freshmen.

In the Senior race Pedro ran the fastest recorded time for any Warren Bear since 1978, and missed the school record by just 2 seconds; his time was 15:25 and tool 4th place overall.  An amazing day for the Cross Country team.  Congratulations!!!

Art Club-  Art club will be meeting this Wednesday after school in room U2.  No artistic
abilities required.  We welcome anyone and everyone!! Any questions please see Ms. Roldan in room U2.

Boys Basketball-  Tryouts for this year’s Boys Basketball teams will be held this week.
Tryouts for sophomores, juniors, and seniors who want to join JV or Varsity teams this season will be held today and tomorrow from 4:30- 6:30pm in the gym.  Freshmen tryouts will be held today and Wednesday from 6:30-8:30pm in the gym.  Multi-sport athletes & football players are encouraged to tryout after practice.  See Coach Willis if you have any questions.

Freshmen ASB-  Freshmen bears that are running for an ASB office, LISTEN UP!  Don’t

Girls Golf-  The Lady Bears Golf team set another school record yesterday when they
shot a 199 as they defeated Mangolia in league play.  Savannh Vilabee shot a 36 and Raquel Perez shot a 37 to lead the bears.  Warren is now 3-0 overall.  Way to go Bears!!

French Club-  Bonjour!  The French club will be meeting this Friday during snack in U4. 
                        We will be voting for the French Club officers.  Chow!

set up in the quad during both lunches publicizing their club.  So whether you need volunteer hours, want to build leadership skills, or you just want something to do during the day other than endless hours of homework, be sure to stop by each of the club’s tables and sign up to be involved this school year.

Wrestling-  Anyone interested in wrestling please meet Coach Brogden Tuesday
September 25th in room 203 (stadium) @ 2:45.  This will be a short meeting about tryouts.

Girls Golf-  The Lady Bears Golf Team improved to 4 and 0 as they defeated Savannah
217 to 318.  Savannah, Raquel, Christine and Darlene all shot in the low 40’s to lead the bears.

Senior Parking-  Seniors, tired of coming to school with no parking left?  Why not buy
your own parking spot?  Spots are now on sale per semester for $30 or personalize if for $35.  Come by the banker’s office or O-1 to pick up an application.  Wednesday, September 26th will be the LAST DAY!  Spaces are limited, so hurry and get it quick!

Spirit Day-  Good Morning Bears, today is Spirit Day.  Everyone who wore their class
T-shirt will receive a free snow cone at lunch in the quad.  If you haven’t bought one, it’s not too late.  A new shipment of class T-shirts arrived yesterday.  Stop by the banker’s office today at purchase one for $7.00.

Boys Water Polo-  Our Varsity Water Polo team struggled against Cypress High
yesterday, losing by two in the last few minutes of the game.  Valiant effort made by all with contributions:  of Amy, Lueke, Enriquez, and Bonilla in goals.
Our JV polo team beat Cypress yesterday with a score of 8 to 7.  JV captain Guillermo Rivera led his team with 4 goals. Nick Nguyen powered in two goals from set.  Additional goals were made by Mark Stansell and Rich Choi.

Coffee Shop:  Stop by the Girl’s League coffee shoppe today for a quick snack before school or during snack.

Boy’s League:  The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen are back with a new name.  That’s right.  We are now Boy’s League.  Everyone is welcome so pick up an app;ication today!!

Girl’s Golf:  The Lady Bears defeated Mayfair on Monday and Santa Ana Valley on Tuesday.  Raquel Perez and Savannah Vilawbee helped to the Bears to a victory.  Good job ladies!!

Senior Parking Spots:  If you’ve purchased a senior parking spot, painting will begin on Friday after school.  A memo will be sent to you during 2nd period.

ABC:  Anyone interested in earning double community service hours please see Mrs. Weiglin in guidance.  We need your help at the ABC swap meet this weekend! If your interested, stop by guidance today!

SAT:  the registration deadline for the November SAT is Tuesday, October 2nd.  Register today at  www.collegeboard.com

Knott’s Tickets:  Knott’s Halloween Haunt tickets are coming soon.  Delivered to you by the sophomore ASB.  Get ready for the scariest night of your life!!

Art Club:  There is an Art Club meeting today after school in U2.  I hope you remembered to bring your socks!  Any questions see Mrs. Roland in U2. 

German Club:  The first meeting will be on Monday October 1st in U5 after school.

are already on sale! Prices are $45 with an ASB card and $50 without. Prices will be going up each week so get your tickets now! The dance is on Saturday October 13th at then Anaheim Hills Country Club. Be sure that your event contract is turned in and you must have your student ID in order to purchase your ticket. Football- The freshman football team defeated La Serna 13 to 16 on Thursday. Brian
Borjas and Carnel Anderson scored rushing touchdowns for the bears. The entire defensive unit played a great game. Good job bears!

Coffee Shoppe- Good morning bears!!! If you need a quick breakfast to get you up and
running for the day, then join us for breakfast at the girls league coffee shoppe. We have a new menu including Eggo waffles and iced mocha and French vanilla coffee. See you there Bears!

Art Club- To all art club members: if you signed up for tomorrows event please pick up
directions in U2. See Ms. Roldan for details.

Girls Golf- The lady bears golf team remained undefeated as they knocked off defending
league champion Gahr yesterday at Rio Hondo Country Club. The bears are 7 and 0 overall and 4 and 0 in league. Way to go ladies.

Boys Basketball- Attention all freshman, JV and Varsity boy’s basketball players: come
by the basketball office today before or after 6th period to pick up your car wash tickets. Those players who play other sports or who are not in 6th period, it is very important you pick up your tickets and other information today from coach Willis.

Cross Country- Cross country girls, don’t forget to turn in your items for tomorrows race.
Also you need to turn in your grade checks today.

French Club- Attention French club members! There is a brief meeting today in U3. Be
there.

Mock Trial- Participants of mock trial don’t forget to turn in permission forms on
Monday. They need to get mailed in so please remember.

Warren Football- The warren JV football team defeated LA Serna on Thursday 35 to 0.
Rafael Quiles rushed for two touchdowns and Shawn Esparza added another. Jesus Molina returned an interception for a touchdown. The defense earned its 4th shut down in 5 games. The bears are now 5 and 0 on the season. Way to go bears.

ASB- Attention sophomore ASB members. There is a mandatory meeting today at snack
in T1. Be there sharp.

Club Week- Today is the last day of club week. This is your last chance to sign up for
clubs on campus! Be sure to visit the tables in the quad at lunch.

Halloween Haunt- Are you ready for the scariest night of your life? Knott’s Halloween
Haunt tickets will be available to purchase starting Monday October 1st. You can buy them at both lunches in the quad or anytime in T1. Your discounted prices are $32 to $42. That’s a huge savings delivered to you by the sophomore ASB. Make sure you buy them before it’s too late.

Boys Water Polo- Incredible victory for our Varsity polo team, with a score of 15 to 14
Wednesday night. It was a close game as our bears trailed for the first 2/3 of the game. Ralph Chaveria had an awesome night scoring 3 goals in the first quarter. Lueke, Jesse, JC and Fuenmayor continually contributed goals keeping pace with Bolsa Grande, only to have Owinat and captains John Adams and Danny Bonilla power in 5 shots in the last quarter for the win. Amazing!!  Boys good luck next Tuesday as you play Bosco.
